Gaughan on Homestead Miami Speedway: “The fans seem to like it. The championship usually comes down to the last race. This is the second largest margin in Craftsman Truck Series history, so this is one of the first times we’ve come to Homestead and not had a real battle to the end. Ever since they rebuilt the place a couple years ago there has been great racing. So the racetrack itself is great to race on. I’ve run well there including in 2003 when we missed out on winning the championship. It’s just a neat place.

“This race team has already got a very aggressive plan for the off season. The January test season has already been decided. We’re going to have six or eight trucks done and our plan is extremely aggressive. In the last two races we’ve had mechanical problems hurt good runs. We need to not have those mechanical problems and get the good finish to close out the season. For the off season we’ve already gotten ourselves to where we’re ahead with bodies ready to go and chassis ready to go and we’re going to stay ahead now. We’ve worked our tails off to get this far ahead and we’re going to stay that way all year.”
