Brendan Gaughan and his No. 77

Brendan Gaughan and his No. 77 South Point Racing team qualified 14th for Friday night's Silverado 350 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Gaughan turned a fast time of 29.591 seconds (182.49 miles per hour). Mike Skinner took the pole with a quick lap of 29.326 seconds (184.14 mph).

"To me, it was a perfect lap," Gaughan said. "This Chevrolet Silverado felt like my trucks used to feel here at Texas. And I'm really looking forward to tomorrow night.

"Texas Motor Speedway has been very special to me. We have a great history here, but I'm tired of talking about the past. We've been on the wrong side of this deal for a while now and I want to change that tomorrow night.
