GAUGHAN ON MARTINSVILLE SPEEDWAY: “I wish I was looking forward to Martinsville. I still stick with the mantra of ‘I hate Martinsville’ and then I feel bad for the poor guys at Martinsville every time I say that because they have such a great, cool facility. It’s a pretty famous little half-mile and they’ve done a good job keeping it on the Nextel Cup schedule.

“I still say I don’t like the place. Amazing enough because my average finish there in the Craftsman Truck Series is better than some other tracks I really like. That’s just amazing to me. I always say I hate the place and I always go there with good equipment. The Orleans Racing team definitely has better equipment now and we went there earlier this year and finished sixth. We think we’re a better team now than we were then. It’s time for us to go show it.”

GAUGHAN ON THE EARTHQUAKE IN HAWAII: “I feel bad for the guys because they work so hard and I got to spend six days in Hawaii. A good family friend of ours got married and we went to a beautiful wedding in Maui. Just like everything else in my life disaster follows and they had the earthquake. I had a bunch of friends call and say they could definitely tell I was in Hawaii. It actually wasn’t that big of a deal to us. I’ve been through a couple earthquakes. It shook the ground a little bit an all the stuff I saw in the media seemed over reported. For the most part we all just went to the beach that day and hung out just like nothing happened, so it wasn’t that big of a deal.”
