GAUGHAN ON NASHVILLE: “Nashville has always been a fun track to race at. It’s not a mile-and-a-half and it’s not a mile-and-a-quarter. It’s 1.333 miles, so it’s an odd size. It’s concrete and it’s got decent banking. We always have a ton of grip there. The concrete lends itself to a be a very fast racetrack.

“Ever since we got done with that Chicago test the Orleans Racing team has been very excited. We really think we have a chance to compete for the win there this week. I’m really pumped up about going there.

“This is not the type of place to take Lonestar. We’re taking the T-15 truck, which we tested side-by-side with Lonestar and T-20 at Chicago. We tested all three of them and we all sat down and said, ‘Which one do we want to take?’ We all chose the T-15 out of the list because we think it’s the right truck for Nashville. We think that with some of the characteristics of its handling it’s going to be really, really good at Nashville.

Gaughan on Having South Coast Livery on his Dodge

“Michael Gaughan never really felt comfortable in a corporate situation. The corporate structure just wasn’t for him and he came to an agreement to buy the South Coast. The South Coast will be renamed soon and we’re going to advertise the one property that Michael Gaughan now owns. We’re really excited and here in Las Vegas it’s big news.  We no longer have all the properties that we used to have but we’ve got one and it’s just ours. So we’re going to start advertising the South Coast. It would be kind of neat to get a win at Nashville the first time we put South Coast on the truck.”
