South Point Racing Team 14th Following Practice at AMS

Brendan Gaughan and the South Point Racing team finally took to the track at Atlanta Motor Speedway after a dreary morning and several rain showers.

After a single practice session due to the rain adjusted schedule, Gaughan was 14th on the board – with his fastest lap being 31.100 seconds.

“The Chevrolet Silverado is just a little loose, but we are very close,” Gaughan said. “This is what we expected at California – we’re just one adjustment from being great.

“We had the brain trust in here, and they think have what they want. We’re going to try to stay top 10 in qualifying and stay top 10 all day.”

Qualifying will start at 5:15 p.m. ET. The race will run tonight at 9 p.m. ET live on SPEED and on MRN/Sirius Satellite Radio.
