South Point Racing's Lakeland Test Cut Short By Rain
Brendan Gaughan and the No. 77 South Point Racing team took to the short track on Monday morning at Lakeland Speedway in Florida.
Although the test was called early due to rain in the afternoon, Gaughan said he continues to be pleased with his trucks and the way they handle on the race track.
“So far, I’ve been able to get a really good feel for the Chevrolet Silverado,” Gaughan said. “Our speeds are what we think they need to be. The truck is turning good, and we’ve been working on different things to help me get off the corner better. We’re learning a lot.”
The test session marked the team’s third test in the past week and a half after also having tested at a superspeedway (Daytona International Speedway) and an intermediate track (Homestead-Miami Speedway).
Barring any weather issues, Gaughan and the No. 77 team will return to Lakeland Speedway for a second test session on Tuesday.
