WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. -- Brad Arnold, Lead Singer of 3 Doors Down, will perform the "Star-Spangled Banner" as part of pre-race ceremonies for the SIRIUS at The Glen NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race this Sunday, August 15th, officials from Watkins Glen International and SIRIUS Satellite Radio announced today.

"We are very excited to have Brad Arnold on hand to perform our National Anthem on Sunday," said track President Craig Rust. "3 Doors Down is one of the leading bands in today's music industry and strong supporters of motorsports. His performance will certainly electrify the crowd and get everyone ready to see some great road racing action!"

3 Doors Down is no stranger to success and is well known across the country, with over 11 million CDs sold in the United States alone. They've had two multi-platinum albums and six No. 1 hit singles in three years, including "Kryptonite", "Here Without You" and "When I'm Gone," which was the most-played song on radio in America in 2003. The band has won numerous awards, including the 2003 Billboard Music Award for both Best Rock/Pop Group and Best Hot 100 Single. Arnold himself was recognized as BMI Songwriter of the Year in 2001.

Arnold, an Escatawpa, Mississippi native, is no stranger to racing. 3 Doors Down collaborated with Dale Earnhardt Jr and Tony Stewart in 2003 for NASCAR single promotion "The Road I'm On". Arnold will also serve as an honorary pit crew member on Sunday with Brendan Gaughan's No. 77 Kodak Dodge team, who has an associate partnership with SIRIUS.

New York State's largest weekend spectator sporting event returns this weekend with the NEXTEL Cup Series taking center stage on Sunday in the much-anticipated SIRIUS at The Glen. Support races include the Mohegan Sun 150 presented by Pepsi NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch North Series on Saturday and the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series' Sahlen's 200 on Friday night. NEXTEL Cup Series drivers take their shot at the pole during P&C Foods Qualifying Day on Friday, August 13th. Tickets start at only $50.
