Gaughan OK but Unable to Speak After Breathing Fire Extinguisher Chemical
Brendan Gaughan was involved in the Said-Hamilton-Montgomery incident coming off turn two early in the race and spent many laps in the garage as his team was making repairs to his No. 77 Dodge. Unfortunately for Gaughan, the safety crew had blasted a fire extinguisher off in his truck, and when he got back in he spent the rest of the race breathing in the fire suppressant. It may be one of the only things that can silence the exhuberant Gaughan, who goes everywhere with a huge grin and always has something to say to everyone, making him a favorite of the fans and media alike.
