SONOMA, Calif. - Nextel Cup rookie Brendan Gaughan and his public relations representative, Terry Jarrell, escaped injury Thursday night in a head-on collision in San Francisco.
After the wreck, the other driver attempted to drive away, striking other cars, Gaughan said.
"He got blocked in, the police got him, no one got hurt and the good guys prevailed," he said.
Gaughan was on his way to a media appearance.
"We figure we got the crash out of the way," he said. "We can let that be the crash of the weekend and let Avis take care of that."
